New Zealand GC is yet another IGC London course established over a 100 years ago yet still retaining an old world charm. Founded in 1895, it was laid out on the estate of H.F.Locke-King, who also built Brooklands, the world’s first motor racing circuit, on his property. It sits amid many illustrious neighbours such as the 3 ‘W’s’ & Sunningdale but more than holds its own. People quite simply love playing here & not for nothing is it regularly referred to as “Surrey’s hidden gem.”

This stunning heathland course has 18 ‘individual’ holes that wend their way amongst the pine trees & heather –  one has a distinct feeling of having the course to oneself. This is our fourth visit here, & each time have been regally entertained by the helpful & friendly staff both on & off the course. The rambling clubhouse itself is a treat to visit – the food there is always excellent.

Allow us to leave the last word to Bernard Darwin, a wonderful golf writer, & grandson of the British naturalist Charles Darwin.

“If anyone wants to play a friendly game, uncrowded & unseen, to have a good lunch in pleasant company, & get home early to London, there is no place like New Zealand.”

We hope you will join us.
